The Religion of Politics Sermon Series

Some of the highlights from last week's message: When GOV replaces GOD politics becomes a religion. This is clearly demonstrated in the history of the human race going all the way back to the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11:1-4. The people came together and wanted to "build a great city for ourselves with a tower that reaches into the sky." This was none other than rejecting God and using human wisdom and strength to build for themselves a way to the heavens, and making his own way to God--a manmade religion. Of course, God wasn't going to have it and put it to a stop. But it didn't stop there. Eventually, the ancient Egyptians deified their pharaohs. King Nebuchadnezzar of the Babylonians demanded worship of a statue in his likeness. The three Hebrew young men resisted his demand and were thrown into a blazing furnace. ...
